Crash is finally back, and he's certainly returned in style. His situation as a PlayStation exclusive may not be certain, but Crash is about as synonymous with PlayStation as it gets.
The excitement of the crowd when Sony announced that Crash Bandicoot would be returning should be enough to show exactly how loved Crash is as the mascot of PlayStation. This is all following a run of really mediocre games and nearly a decade of silence, yet fans still support the Bandicoot. He's that good.
It's really Naughty Dog's work on the original trilogy of games that have made Crash as iconic as he is. When PlayStation was just beginning, it was Crash's face selling consoles. The fact that even in 2017 Crash's face can make a remade trilogy of games one of the best selling titles of the year should be enough to prove his status.
