10 Best Point And Click Video Game Adventures Ever

3. Beneath A Steel Sky

The Adventure:

In the early nineties, Revolution Software started clicking at Sierra and Lucasarts€™ heels with the likes of Lure Of The Temptress and, later on, the Broken Sword series. In 1994, Revolution released Beneath A Steel Sky, their best game to date and, dare it be uttered, the best sci-fi game of all time. The beauty of BASS - aside from the eye-catching cyberpunk inking from Watchman legend, Dave Gibbons €“ is it€™s pure simplicity. This is a game that is so focused on the escapades of Robert Foster and his attempts to descend the levels of Union City, that controls are simplified to left click for looking and right click for using. This unfussy approach of puzzles being solved by item using standard deduction and growing dialogue trees, meant players were able to enjoy the world that director Charles Cecil had created and even have a chuckle at the still fresh dialouge, which was helped along by the witty exchanges between Robert and his back chatting robot, Joey. The remaster is now available on iOS.

Puzzling Par Excellence:

After jubilantly swinging across a scary abyss (see pic), Robert comes face to face with the LINC system. Once he enters this computer domain, the game€™s smartest puzzling event unfolds, as players are expected to use programming instruments to get through this psychedelic maze.
