10 Best PS4 Games Of 2018 - Ranked

2. Spider-Man

Shadow Of The Colossus Remake
Insomniac Games

Since he first swung onto the scene in the 1960s, Spider-Man has been the star of a lot of video games. Some of those were decent, many were bad, and more were so awful, they can't be described without getting into more "colorful" language. When Marvel and Sony announced a Spider-Man title exclusively for the PS4, fans were skeptical... and they had a right to be.

Fortunately, all concern vanished when Spider-Man was finally released on September 7, 2018 to widespread and universal acclaim. The game was so good, it might as well have been another movie in the library of Sony's Spider-Man film titles.

Spider-Man plays out pretty much just like a film, which is only helped along by the beautiful transitions and cutscenes that employ the amazing acting talents of dozens of people. There was even a surprise Stan Lee cameo that made the game all the more endearing for players who picked it up after the legendary writer's passing.

This title almost made it to the top of the list, but fell perhaps 0.00000001% behind the game that took the top spot. Thanks to some DLC and other additions made post-launch, it will likely remain playable for years to come and there have already been discussions about more exclusive Marvel titles to come, hopefully in the near future.
