10 Best Resident Evil Spin-Off Video Games
3. Resident Evil: Revelations
Capcom tried to draw a middle ground with this title; trying to unite fans of both the more action-oriented games in the series and the old school fans who preferred a bitter struggle for survival to joyously mowing down waves of infected enemies.
Revelations puts players back in control of Jill Valentine as she and new character Parker, board an abandoned cruise ship in search of the missing Chris Redfield. The game takes a slower pace for much of its run and the Queen Zenobia cruise ship is a wonderful open environment for players to explore. The new enemies; The Ooze, proved suitably disgusting and the game boasts one of the better final boss fights in the series.
It's not all sunshine and roses, however. The game features long loading times, patchy graphics in some areas and many fans were turned off by the games overly complicated story. Seriously, trying to follow this narrative in just one playthrough is nearly impossible. Ultimately however, Revelations is a great game that began the slow process of tipping the franchise back towards its horror roots.
