10 Best Reverse-Horror Video Games You've Probably Never Heard Of

9. Attack Of The Earthlings

Last Year The Nightmare
Junkfish

This turn-based strategy game takes many tropes of sci-fi horror and flips them on their head.

Instead of taking control over the brave heroes as they battle against a horde of thoughtless, murderous alien beings, you instead pilot a race of aliens as they defend their planet from a human invasion.

Although you are the invaded and not the invaders, you still get to play with the typical barbarity of a parasitic alien race. These humans have bitten off more than they can chew, as you stalk, hunt and devour them for daring to step onto your home planet.

Additionally, this strategy game comes in yet another unique package. Rather than giving players the chance to unleash their rage on the intruders, you are instead motivated to act with stealth and caution, only unleashing the bloody kills when in the prime position.

Alongside the awesome strategy mechanics and cartoonish art style comes a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour that fully reflects humanity's negative connotations. It pokes fun at human greed, the reversal of the alien invasion story structure and the over-the-top guts and gore that comes from killing earthlings.
