Without a shadow of a doubt, the most insane character Rockstar has ever created, Trevor Phillips is arguably the most beloved of all of GTA's protagonists.

Trevor kills people willy-nilly, swears more than Gordon Ramsay, and is entirely unpredictable. He's incredibly fun to watch and play as, but he's utterly unrelatable and that's why he's so far down the list.

One of the most ingenious things about GTA V is the ability to play as three characters - all representing different levels of the human psyche; Michael as the ego; Franklin the super-ego; and Trevor the id. That's perfectly showcased when you switch to playing as Trevor, only to find him naked on a beach, stomping a mudhole into a random passer-by or flying a plane.

He represents the way a lot of gamers play GTA games when they don't plan on saving. He makes you feel like it's totally fine to run a rampage because you can simply switch back to the more sane characters later. He's unabashed, unfiltered chaos, and that makes him a blast to play as, even if he doesn't feature much in the way of a character arc.
