10 Best Set Pieces In Uncharted History
6. Tower Collapse (Uncharted 4)
Uncharted 4 definitely toned down the amount of set pieces in comparison to Uncharted 3, prioritising quality over quantity. The tower collapse sequence is a great example of this.
After Sam and Nate finally find Libertalia, they end up climbing a massive tower, a la Assassin’s Creed, to try and get a better view. As soon as this happens, Shoreline attack the brothers and one of the best moments in the game begins.
The whole sequence involves a lot of fighting and running, but eventually culminates in an epic two-on-one battle against Nadine that sends the trio falling through another building and into one of the game’s more dramatic scenes.
The only thing that holds this sequence back is a lack of choice. Although it’s nowhere near as limited as other moments in the series, most of what Nathan has to do is on a predefined path. Even the battle against Nadine is completely scripted and cannot really be altered in any way - though it does all look excellent in motion.
