10 Best Side Quests In Fable 2
1. Defender of the light/The Oakfield Massacre
Peter Molyneux promised players that they could plant an acorn and see it grow into a great oak. Thus the legend of the lying developer goes, and the only remnants of his promises appear in these two coinciding quests. While they don't make up for the over-hype that Molyneux delivered, they are at least a brilliant addition to the game.
You are given a choice partway through the title to either protect the Golden Oak for the Temple of Light or to join forces with the Temple of Shadows and poison the tree located in Wellspring Cave. This, of course, is another binary set of options, but the choice that you make has significant ramifications for the state of Oakfield.
The setting of the beautiful farmland is completely altered - either for better or worse - after your character returns from The Spire and it truly makes the choice you made feel incredibly important.
In many games that have morality systems, you rarely see the impact that your choices make, but in this instance, it's not only abundantly clear but incredibly satisfying.
