10 Best Spider-Man Video Games
2. Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows
Hands-down, the best movement Spider-Man has ever had comes from Web of Shadows.
Not only did we get a powerhouse partnership between Treyarch and development wizards Shaba Games (who you can thank for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3), but Spider-Man's repertoire finally added in a combat system that let you stay airborne, ping-ponging between various foes in some spectacular battles.
The animation was just so sublime (and still is), factoring into everything from wall-runs to slingshotting yourself up walls, spinning and flipping the more momentum you build. Story and gameplay-wise it's a one-off, giving Spidey the Symbiote suit as a one-button toggle, but also letting us see what the likes of Wolverine would look like, had he been infected instead.
With the best open-world feel the character has ever had, a phenomenal mix of villains, other Marvel hero cameos and a spot-on attitude for Peter Parker, Web of Shadows is possibly the most underrated of Spidey's entire video game output.
