10 Best Sports Video Games Of 2016
7. STEEP
Okay, there were supposed to be no racing games on the list, but this one is hard to classify, as it involves head-to-head showdowns, and is still a sports game.
An open world sports game at that, which seems like a really cool premise. The player is free to travel from mountain to mountain and slide, almost endlessly. Well not only slide, but also fly, as you can ski, snowboard, paraglide and deploy a wingsuit too. The mountains themselves look beautiful, and the snow has reactive modelling applied to really let you carve lines through it on the way down.
Why is the game number seven, then? Because the activities become boring rather quickly. If you're a snow-sport enthusiast you'll rank this game higher and I really respect that, because it's a really cool game when you're into that kind of stuff. Otherwise, it feels repetitive after just a few hours.
Then again, doesn't every sports game we're not personally invested in?
