10 Best Star Wars Video Game Heroes Ranked Worst To Best
3. Starkiller/Galen Marek - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Galen Marek, the secret apprentice of Darth Vader, is so over-powered in the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed instalment that even Rey Palpa- Skywalker - Rey Skywalker - would say he's a bit much.
From bringing down entire Star Destroyers with the Force to dismantling Rancors with relative ease, the dreaded Starkiller should have been the Empire's finest weapon. There just happened to be one problem - Marek ultimately had a conscience.
Much of the first game zeroes in on Starkiller's gradual journey to the light. Used by Lord Vader to help set up the Rebellion in a long con to overthrow the devious Emperor Palpatine, Marek eventually disregards the darkness entirely. Standing up for the Rebel Alliance, the all-powerful Force user dies defending Jedi hero and rebel leader Rahm Kota. That is, at least, if players decide to pick the heroic ending.
For those who want to enjoy one of the most miserable endings ever committed to disc, a dark side finale involving the death of Darth Vader is also on the table. Instead of defeating the Emperor in combat as well, though, Marek winds up horribly maimed, and is rebuilt in a robotic suit just like his old mentor.
Palpatine smugly confirming Marek's stuck working for him until he finds a replacement is just horrendously grim and a fantastic advertisement for the redemptive, lighter ending players can enjoy instead.
