10 Best Super Mario Fan Theories That Explain Everything
9. None Of The Games Really Happened (Apart From The First One)
The conclusion of Super Mario Bros. 2 reveals our hero's entire adventure was nothing more than a dream. When Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed Super Mario Bros. 3 was a stage play, fans asked themselves, "Which Mario games actually happened?"
Some theorists took it one step further, suggesting NONE of the games happened save for the first one. The theory goes that Mario felt so powerful after saving the Mushroom Kingdom, he dedicated his life to reliving his glory days.
He dreams about new adventures and makes his friends act out his heroics because he misses being the depicted as a saviour. It would also explain how Bowser keeps returning, despite being dropped in lava or being sucked into a black hole.
But it doesn't stop there. Mario is followed by a cameraman in Super Mario 64, hinting he's making a movie. In Super Mario Sunshine, the levels are called "Episodes", implying he's starring in a show.
How else can you explain Mario's boundless skills? Have you ever met a plumber who's an expert in tennis, go-karting, Olympic sprinting, and can shoot fire, turn into paper, and jump five times his height? Even if this theory isn't true, Mario's god-like capabilities are conventionally unexplainable.
