10 Best Synthwave Video Games You Need To Play

4. Mother Russia Bleeds

You've gotta hand it to Devolver; they've found their gap in the market and they have most definitely filled it. When it comes to violence and synthwave, they're your go-to guys.

So it shouldn't come as any surprise that Mother Russia Bleeds is on that label, then. Depsite being a French developer, MRB is the tale of four gyspies in 1980's alternate Russia who have been unwillingly kidnapped and forced into a drug trial. Possible side-effects definitely include super strength and unbridled rage, as you and up to three friends locally get revenge on both the mafia and government, in glorious pixelated mayhem.

Along for the ride is Fixions' delirious, bombastic soundtrack. Mixing high octane synthwave and electronica with more traditional Russian/Gregorian-style, it sounds like it shouldn't work, but it totally does.

It's like playing Tetris in one hand and railing ALL the drugs from the end of Scarface at the same time, but y'know... without the death.
