Do your players always end up becoming criminals or murderers? Are they always looking to make money but still want to be the heroes? Then you need to play Blades in the Dark. In this dark fantasy steampunk setting, your players will become a gang of thieves and cutthroats. Years ago, the sun broke, now the world is cast in eternal dusk as the last embers glow in the sky. You are a resident of Duskvol one of the biggest and last cities. You are protected by the great lightning wall, outside there is nothing but death.

In the gritty and unforgiving world, there is only one way to survive, money. You and your band of criminals must perform daring heists and fight in vicious gang wars so that you can climb out of the gutters.

Blades in the dark works on a system of rolling six-sided dice, this determines whether you pass or fail your task. Most of the time you will successfully complete the task you are attempting, however there may be unforeseen circumstances. Being a scoundrel isn’t easy and you’re going to have to push your luck sometimes.

Another great system in Blades in the Dark are the flashbacks. The game uses this system to keep planning to a minimum. At any point a player can call for a flashback. This will allow them to form a plan while on a mission. Did you bribe that guard earlier, leave a key in a safe spot, or maybe hid a weapon for an upcoming fight? This great setting and mechanics make Blades in the Dark a must-play for any tabletop enthusiast.
