What is a really embarrassing way for a brave adventure to die? Caught in a goblin trap? How about by the jealous lover of that NPC you seduced? Do you know what is worst? Falling down a cliff.

This often-overlooked level one spell, available to Bards, Sorcerers, and Wizards. It could help to save you and your party in a variety of situations. Beyond making that George with a rickety rope bridge just a minor annoyance, there are many dangers this spell can protect you from.

The player can cast this spell as a reaction which means that whenever you or a creature within 60-feet of you begin to fall, you can instantly save up to five people from falling down that pit of doom. But how else could you make use of this spell?

Perhaps you’re running a heist, attempting to break into that nobleman’s vault. Well then, why not be lowered from the ceiling mission impossible style. Maybe you need to jump off a top of a building to escape the pursuing guards. With a little imagination and an open-minded dungeon master, the sky’s the limit.
