10 Best Utility Spells In Dungeons & Dragons
5. Druidcraft
One of the few spells that are class-specific. Druidcraft
may seem pointless to some, while others see the potential that this spell has.
Using this spell, a Druid can produce a number of small effects that are based
around the natural world, these include:
- Predicting the weather
- Making flowers or seed pods instantly bloom
- Creating an instantaneous, harmless sensory effect, such as falling leaves or a gust of wind.
- The ability to instantly light or snuff out a candle, torch or a small campfire.
While it may seem that this is mostly to demonstrate the Druid's connection to nature, these abilities can be incredibly useful; predicting the weather can make traveling easier and maybe even allows you to set an ambush. Making plants instantly bloom can be useful for gathering fruits and herbs. Harmless sensory effects have a multitude of uses for misdirection or distraction and lighting or snuffing out a campfire can really make a group of bandits nervous.
There are so many uses for this spell outside of these suggestions that it would be impossible to mention them all, just let your imagination run wild, as long as it’s for the benefit of the natural world.
