Video games based on TV shows are infamous for being bad. 2002’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer, fortunately, is not one of them.

While debate is still up as to which game is the best, this game or the later Chaos Bleeds, Buffy The Vampire slayer 2002 is arguably the most focused. Set during the third season of the TV show, it follows the story of season 1 big bad The Master returning.

The entire title is quintessential Buffy, a love letter for the fans. Sunnydales gloomy atmosphere, the casts quirkiness and most importantly, kicking ass as the Slayer are all captured perfectly. It also helped that the majority of the cast (bar Gellar) done the voice acting for the game.

The actual gameplay is fairly standard third person action stuff, but with a wide variety of moves and Buffys iconic stake in hand, it stands proud amongst the cult hit show.

Thrilling, atmospheric, funny in all the right places, the title is a necessity for any Buffy fans. If you have ever wanted to know what it felt like to be the Slayer, this is the game for you.
