9. Final Fantasy VII's Remake Gets Confirmed At E3

dream-fulfilling missile, primed and ready to hit home for any 90s gamer who ever wished for everything from Shenmue to Fallout 4, or in this case, an actual fully-formed Final Fantasy VII remake. Not a re-skin, not a PC port coming to consoles, not even another sequel or movie that expands the mythos, oh no. This time we're getting a proper remake of the full game, no matter what the financial cost (something Square had pointed to as the reason it never happened earlier), alongside reworking the character models and gameplay features from top to bottom. Information is thin on the ground at the minute other than there'll be a followup announcement nearer the close of the year (hopefully with some gameplay footage), but the fact remains; one of the most mythical and initially unrealistic rumours is now a reality, and that moment in the above debut trailer where
that theme starts trickling in... that's the magic of gaming in every sense of the word right there.
