1. Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet (God Of War)

Considering they're both based on the same Norse mythology, there was a surprising amount of similarities between God of War and Avengers: Infinity War when they released in April. Of course, while a lot of these connections were incidental, merely down to the shared source material, the developers behind arguably the best game of the year did slip in one ode to the world-conquering movie.

The Shattered Gauntlet of Ages at first looks just like any other piece of armour, with the description making reference to other fragments which could return the weapon to its former strength. While there are no specific instructions, players figured out these fragments were essentially stand ins for Thanos' Infinity Stones, and if you placed them all in the enchantment slots, could shoot magical blasts out the gauntlet itself.

Even better, both God of War and Infinity War released within a few weeks of each other, meaning fans went absolutely bananas over being able to go straight from the movie to the game and live out their wildest Thanos fantasies. And, hell, even without that connection, the gauntlet made for a great tactical addition to Kratos' arsenal.
