10 Best Video Game Villains Of The Decade

9. Vaas (Far Cry 3)

There are two game series that are basically defined by their villains, one of whom we'll get to later. But the first of these are the Far Cry games. And this trend began with the one and only Vaas.

A villain so good, they buried the equally good hero in the sand next to him while he takes up the cover of the game. Almost like he hijacked it from Jason Brody because he heard that he wasn't getting top billing and wasn't having that nonsense.

Vaas is the best kind of insane video game villain, a trope we've seen all too often, even at the time. But Vaas just has this presence about him, in the way he moves and in his dialogue, that makes him seem just a bit crazier than the rest. And yet there is clearly an intelligence to his actions, as the game goes on, you (and thus Jason) start to see the method to his madness.

Almost as if Jason is becoming more like him. Which is - of course - the point of the entire game. He's down this low because there's just not enough of him. Mostly because the game ditches him for someone less interesting halfway through the game.
