10 Best Video Games Based On Movies

9. The Warriors

The Warriors video game tie-in might well be one of the finest-crafted experiences I've ever played. While it's true I am totally besotted with the original film and its cavalcade of colorful and camp carnage, this isn't just fanboy blindness speaking, as Rockstar truly knocked it out of the park with this one.

While the team could have just settled for a rehash of the film's narrative, they dared to go much further, providing a story that not only hits the highs of the film, but also details how The Warriors came to be, their conflict with The Destroyers, and even mini-missions that give the original cast backstory and depth.

This isn't just a love letter to the source but a bloody bibliography. It's a blessing therefore that the combat matches the worldbuilding, letting players tackle, stab, bludgeon and enter a blind cocaine rage-fuelled frenzy to take down rival gangs.

The addition of multiplayer makes this all the sweeter, as does the bevy of extra content including gang building Vs modes and even a fully realized side-scrolling beat em up game hidden in the Warriors HQ!

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
