10 Best Visceral Video Games - Ranked

1. James Bond 007: Everything Or Nothing

It was going to take something mighty damn special to be such a prolific studio's finest effort, but Everything or Nothing is easily their most ambitious and perfectly executed affair, honing that blockbuster feel and being a completely original Bond story to boot.

Again representing an era when EA would pay for a game to be given the Hollywood sequel treatment, Everything or Nothing was outstanding, damn near unprecedented when it came to casting and production. Pierce Brosnan, Judy Dench, John Cleese, Willem DaFoe, Heidi Klum and more all reprised franchise roles or were cast to be villains and Bond girls respectively - even the legendary Jaws had Richard Kiel once again voice the character.

Gameplay-wise, we had everything from punch-happy brawling, stealth, gadget-use and vehicle segments - the latter hitting a high point when Bond powerslides a Ducati underneath a flaming tanker, escaping as the whole thing goes up behind him.

Remember, being 2003, the industry hadn't quite perfected the replication of Hollywood action, but games like Everything or Nothing were instrumental in providing a template on how to do so. Of course, it helped a great deal that the whole thing played like a dream.

Cheers for all the good times, Visceral. We've certainly had plenty of them.
