10 Best Wrestling Video Games Ever
9. WWE 2K16 (PS4/XBox One, 2015)
While it's by no means perfect (seriously, the whole commentary thing killed us, guys), last year's addition to 2K's still-infant run with WWE isn't just a colossal improvement on its predecessor (alright, not hard): it's finally brought an end to a years-long run of wrestling games just, basically, being a bit naff.
The roster is, to be fair, freakin' massive, if peppered with some glaring omissions (Emma but no Sasha Banks? Eh?!), and while the slower, meatier gameplay takes a while to get used to, once it clicks, it feels like the most realistic wrestling experience any game has offered for years. The Stone Cold story mode is great fun, of course, and the career mode is a huge leap ahead of anything a WWE title has provided in ages.
Ultimately, while we could still do with a better creation mode and it would have been nice to have a storyline mode where you're not just reliving past WWE/F glories (WE GET IT, GUYS, THE ATTITUDE ERA WAS COOL), it was a hugely rewarding addition to the fold and sets this year's game a high bar to reach.
