10 Best Wrestling Video Games Ever
8. Def Jam Vendetta (Playstation 2/GameCube, 2003)
What, you thought this was gonna be all WWE and WCW stuff? After the dreadful WCW: Backstage Assault had been quite rightly panned three years prior, EA tried something a little different for its next wrestling title, merging the genre with hip hop in 2003 to create one of the most brainlessly fun wrestling titles of the era.
Boasting a killer soundtrack and appearances from the likes of DMX, Redman, Ludicrous and Ghostface Killah, Def Jam Vendetta might not have been the most traditional wrestling game on the market, but its excellent gameplay, advanced presentation and fun storyline made it a winner.
While a lack of match options hurt it compared to the competing Smackdown titles of the time, it remains one of the most unique and shamelessly fun wrestling games ever.
