10 Best WWE Video Game Storylines (They Need To Do In Real Life)
8. Royal Rumble War Of Numbers (Smackdown vs. Raw 2007)
For the past few years, there hasn't quite been the emphasis on the Royal Rumble that there used to be. From 1993 onwards, when the winner was automatically guaranteed a place in the main title match at WrestleMania, the bout took on a whole new level of importance, but with the creation of the World Heavyweight Championship (secondary belt) in 2002, the importance of winning the Rumble diminished. Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 may not be the most fondly-remembered title from the Smackdown series (it's still better than Know Your Role, on that many agree), but the story mode did involve several great stories. One of the best was a beautiful example of how simplicity can really win the day. Interrupting a furious JBL, lambasting Teddy Long for being handed the #1 number for the Rumble, the player tells the diminutive GM that he'd be happy to grasp it. From there, users play through a series of matches designed to see how high they can get their number before the Rumble. There have been variations of this through the years on WWE TV, such as wrestler vying for the #30 spot, but this could be a cool first storyline for a main roster rookie to sink their teeth into.
