10 Better Games That Were Secretly Hidden In Video Games
7. The Story Of Vaas - Far Cry 3 & 6
Far Cry 3 marks the point at which the open world FPS franchise became a true AAA phenom, and much of its success was credited to a fantastic marketing campaign which played-up the presence of antagonistic pirate lord Vaas Montenegro (Michael Mando).
Vaas is by far the most interesting thing about Far Cry 3, so it's a shame that his role in the game as a whole is relatively short-lived, ultimately being dispatched in an underwhelming quasi-boss fight.
The game unfurls a fair degree of Vaas' vicious backstory, though also leaves enough up in the air to merit further exploration.
Not a single solitary soul came away from Far Cry 3 wanting to know more about "hero" Jason Brody, but they certainly wanted to see more of Vaas, and even play as him.
And so, when Far Cry 6 was first revealed, many theorised that dictator Antón Castillo's (Giancarlo Esposito) son could in fact be Vaas, but alas, it wasn't to be.
The game's DLC, Vaas: Insanity, did however finally allow players to take control of Vaas for a two-hour mini-campaign, but just like Yakuza Kiwami 2's Majima Saga, it just left audiences hankering for a feature-length game starring Vaas.
