10 Biggest Concerns With Upcoming 2023 Video Games

2. Return To Roots - Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Out of the three recently announced Assassin's Creed projects, Mirage appears to be the most interesting due to the developers calling it a return to the franchise's roots. The game is going to stray away from the RPG and open world elements of Valhalla and Oddyssey and focus on stealth and quietly eliminating your targets in a dense urban area.

This news has been exciting for the old-school fans of Assassin's Creed, but seeing as the franchise has been going in a completely different direction for years now, the same fans also have their fair share of concerns regarding this approach.

It may be difficult for the developers to recreate the allure of the original games after dedicating themselves to the RPG formula for so long. Not only that, the old gameplay would need to be refreshed for the current generation of gaming, and coming up with something new to add to the mix is no easy task.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the old gameplay cannot make a comeback; however, given the success of the RPG Assassin's Creeds and the fact that they remain Ubisoft's primary focus, Mirage will have to fight for its chance to revitalize the franchise.
