7. Amy
When we first heard about Amy, we were totally stoked, given that it sounded like what you would get if you took Team Ico and assigned them a survival horror game. The game has you playing as a woman called Lana, who has to protect a young, autistic girl named Amy, guiding her out of a city overrun by crazed monsters. It's a game that promised not only horror thrills but also to forge a connection between the two characters, something it categorically fails to do by game's end. This is one of the worst games I have ever played, all the more because it had such a promising, enticing concept; from the controls to the horrendous camera angles, it is a game that is broken in pretty much every way that a game can be. Every opportunity this game has to be an emotional experience is summarily squandered due to both inconsistent visuals and hackneyed voice acting. The story is surprisingly boring and rote, and the punishing level of difficulty ensured that most people, players and critics alike, didn't even bother finishing the game. This is exactly how
not to make a great game.
