10 Biggest Lies Gamers Tell Themselves

3. I'm Going To Get Every Achievement/ Trophy

Gaming is such an insanely competitive marketplace. You might have heard Game Churn before, but for those of you who haven't, this is the measurement of time in which a video game can retain its player base after its release.

This Game Churn is almost the entire reason that Achievements and Trophies were invented. It's another way to keep gamers playing, even after the campaign is over, by giving them some actual reason (other than 'for the hell of it') to go back and play s'more. But how often have you told yourself "I'm getting every achievement on this one, I don't care how long it takes me", before two weeks later getting bored and moving on to something else without so much as a moment's hesitation.

It takes a special gamer to follow through with the commitment to 100% a video game in terms of achievements/ trophies. And if you've got a job, bills to pay, a partner that doesn't 'get' gaming or anything along those lines, chances are that you're not that gamer.
