10 Biggest Video Game Surprises Of 2022 (So Far)
6. OlliOlli World
Unlocking and playing as Spider-man in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 was arguably when the skating genre peaked in 2000.
While there have been a handful of great skating games since then, none have truly lived up to the feeling of rush and discovery present in the late 90s and early 2000s.
OlliOlli World brings us back to that time, in its own way.
This is another solid entry in the OlliOlli series of games, which we haven’t seen since 2015. Here, you do everything you expect from a skateboarding game: skate through various levels, do tricks and rack up a high score while trying to beat each stage as fast as possible.
There’s a tremendous sense of speed; you're going to end up trying levels repeatedly to reach a high score and be the best skater you can be; it takes speedrunning, one of the most difficult challenges a gamer can attempt, and makes it much more accessible than most games.
You can even create your skater and get lost in the world of OlliOlli with its rich art style and depth-filled environments.
OlliOlli World is easily the best in the series and one you should check out if you’re a fan of the skating genre.
