10 Biggest WTF Moments In Recent Video Games

8. The New Content - The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe

Tears of the Kingdom
Galactic Cafe

It's no surprise The Stanley Parable has plenty of WTF moments, considering this black comedy-drenched mindbender deals with existentialism, predestination, and Hobson's choice.

So, when Galactic Cafe announced this indie hit would receive a bonus-crammed remaster, fans expected the Ultra Deluxe version to take the meta-humour and macabre zaniness to further extremes.

Even though players knew things would get weird, they weren't ready for this level of weirdness. After playing through Ultra Deluxe several times, The Narrator announces that Stanley has unlocked additional material, and directs him to an open door, unsubtly labelled New Content. Our silent protagonist is brought to a room where he's given the ability to jump.

And that's it.

Furious by this underwhelming reward, The Narrator does all he can to make it up to Stanley. After resetting the game, The Narrator brings him to the New New Content room, where Stanley is shown potential ideas for the sequel, including a bottomless hole that's not bottomless, a gameshow, puppies, and most notably, a Reassurance Bucket.

Believing these additions aren't substantial, The Narrator scraps everything, allowing the titular character to play The Stanley Parable 2. Then The Stanley Parable 3. Then 4. Then... well you get the idea.
