10 Bonkers Arkham Knight Identity Theories (That Surely Can't Be True)

1. You're Not Actually Batman

The biggest "Hey, wait... WHAT?!" theory out there that plenty of fans are latching onto is the biggest bait n' switch of them all - you're not even playing as Batman at all. Instead the theory goes that you're Hush (a character who skinned various innocents to create a Bruce Wayne mask) who's finally perfected his chameleon act - alongside going a wee bit crazy - and has taken up the mantle of the Bat. Who you see as the Arkham Knight is actually Batman the whole time trying to put a stop to him - and at some point in the narrative the whole thing will get flipped on its head, easily making for one of the best plot twists of all time if it's true. Hard to believe? Very. However, Grant Morrison's work on Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth did point out that maybe Batman's final destination is to be locked up in Arkham with the other maniacs, and this sort of world-toppling twist is suddenly way more believable if it's all inside Bruce's fractured mind. Still, despite Hush being the odds-on favourite he's way more of a tactician than a fighter, and chances are doing a Batman game where you don't actually play as the real Dark Knight would go down in history as a bad decision on behalf of the majority. Time will tell if any of these are true, but for now let us know what you think is the most plausible, which you would hate to happen and if there's any awesome ones out there we missed!
