10 Brilliant Video Games With TERRIBLE Endings

When your own sequel refers to the end of your game as - and I quote - "tentacles and disappointment" then you know you have a problem.

Throughout the game, you're being hounded by the typical Borderlands super charismatic baddie that wants your ass on a silver platter for various reasons that ultimately don't matter. You are given every reason by the end to want these guys dead, especially when they get to your goal - the vault - before you do.

And then a giant monster pops up out of the vault and tentacles the villain you're actually invested in through the chest. Like we said, tentacles and disappointment.

The fight itself isn't even all that interesting to make up for it. Unlike the other bosses and baddies, this guy just stays in one plays taking damage like a sponge. So as long as you have somewhere to hide, you're safe. Bringing this fight down a numbers game, something the series bends over backwards trying to keep itself from becoming.

Is it any wonder that 2K clearly doesn't look back on this first outing with any kind of fondness?
