10 Broken Video Games That Fans Had To Fix

5. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II - The Sith Lords

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II is one of the most infamous "unfinished" games ever released, because after LucasArts imposed unrealistic deadlines upon developers Obsidian Entertainment, much planned content had to effectively be torn out of the game.

Though KOTOR II was ultimately well-received by critics and fans, it was also painfully clear the released game was far from Obsidian's vision, with an entire droid planet, M4-78, being removed, while also launching with a litany of bugs.

The game's passionate fan community rallied to assemble The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod, which not only fixed a staggering 500 bugs but also attempted to restore cut content such as deleted quests and dialogues, much of which remained within the game files.

The mod was first released in 2009 and supported until 2014. The efforts were so industrious that even the game's lead designer, Chris Avellone, praised the team for helping improve the experience:

"I have a lot of respect to TSLRCM for restoring the content, and I'm glad it can see the light of day. There was a lot more that we wanted to include in the title, obviously, and the restoration mod should prove it."
