5. A Taste For Dreamwine - Total War: Warhammer III
In Total War: Warhammer III, the player can find powerful artefacts that greatly enhance your characters’ power.
Some of them, however, look only good on paper. And if the player is too tempted by their great buffs to notice there’s something off about them, the price they will pay for blindly chasing after power can be pretty awful.
The Jug of Dreamwine is a unique item that the player can get by visiting a unique location called the Exquisite Vineyard. The place it comes from is implied to be corrupted by the powers of the Chaos God of Temptation, Slaanesh, which is why a smart player would immediately realize it’s probably not wise to touch anything that comes out of it.
Still, the Jug offers an incredible amount of powerful modifiers, like immortality and increased resistance, which is why less concerned players will ignore its dubious origin and use it anyway.
The problem is that after a few turns, the great buffs will suddenly be replaced by an addiction to the Dreamwine, which lowers the character’s leadership modifier and causes them to spread demonic corruption wherever they go.
Well, someone could use an intervention…
