10 Changes PS4 Needs To Keep Ahead In The Console War
8. Perfected Streaming Quality
One of the big edges the Xbox One has over its competition is the quality of its streaming service; with a broadcast resolution of 280 x 720, 30 frames-per-second and a bitrate of 2.5 Mbps trouncing the Playstation 4's 960 x 540, 30 frames-per-second and 1.7 Mbps. Even ignoring the basic numbers, the quality of the Playstation 4's service is surprisingly low. Some of the worst issues found plaguing the machine's performance are frequent audio-visual bugs, a surprisingly poor playback quality and compression issues which turn glorious moments of gameplay into an eyesore. As streaming becomes ever popular, the quality of the feed and footage becomes ever more essential to any service. Enough problems are created already thanks to the dire online infrastructure in countries like America, let alone the potential server issues with certain companies, without the Playstation 4 itself not being up to scratch. If Sony wants to make the most of it they need to focus their efforts on improving this service to compete against Microsoft or even more readily available PC options.
