10 Changes PS4 Needs To Keep Ahead In The Console War
4. Include Missing Features
As a result of sudden removal of much promoted revolutionary technology from their games (Dark Souls IIs lighting system, anyone?), gamers have come to expect a level of disappointment with every release. Even so, the distinct lack of certain services Sony promised Playstation owners on launch is beyond belief. It was announced early on that some elements, such as the suspend/resume mode and friend assist, would not be present on launch. These were to be added via a later patch only to disappear almost entirely without word. Missing features would be dire enough, but the community has been clamouring for the inclusion of features which made life far easier on the Playstation 3. A few of the more common criticisms are the overly simplified user interface, lack of MP3 app, no DNLA support of any kind, and inability to even customise backgrounds. As it stands, this latest generation promised entirely new ideas to build upon old features, but seems to have forgotten much of both in the push to hit a release date. It's about time Playstation owners start to see a few more promised features being added and a bit less silence from Sony.
