10. Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee
Pokémon already has solid representation from the Smash Bros. series with Pikachu and Jigglypuff being in each incarnation from the 1999 original onwards and the likes of the Pokémon trainer (an excuse to swap between Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard in the same fight), Mewtwo and Lucario being playable along the way. The Pokéball itself has become a staple item of the series too, with countless monsters appearing to screw around with the stage, lull people to sleep or simply just explode (thanks Electrode, you're a star). Now you may call me crazy but shouldn't the fighting type Pokémon get some love? The perfect way to do this is have either Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee from the original generation appear to lay the smack down. Hitmonchan would be special attack orientated, with ice, thunder and fire punches while Hitmonlee can be all physical, with powerful, speedy directional kicks. I've combined them together for this entry because while having both of them would be great, they would probably work better for roster range's sakes if they occupied one slot and you could pick between them with a special button press (similar to how you can start as Shiek after selecting Zelda). They've already appeared as Pokéball assists, it's now time for them to graduate to the big leagues.
