9. Mr. Driller
Mr. Driller may not be the most exclusive Nintendo property, but he's been with us since the Game Boy Color through to DSiWare, so he certainly has longevity. At least enough to validate his existence in a Smash Bros. game past the Ice Claimers, surely? Special move wise, everything's going to be about the drill, which you think would limit him but some of the best fighting game characters (especially when dealing in a crossover game like Smash Bros.) can be those which you can't immediately peg the moves for. Of course when Mega Man was announced we all had a good idea that his moves would be based on the abilities he obtains in his games, but Mr. Driller's limitations can be a source of more inspired attack types. Even forgetting about the moves, fighting on a Mr Driller stage would be a big change from the arenas we're used to with block dropping down to crush competitors and the need to grab tanks of air.
