With the episodic releases of Halo onto Steam’s version of the Master Chief Collection, I, and I’m sure many others, can personally attest to how god damn annoying Elites are.

Brutes, too, for that matter. They’re big boys and they can swing a plasma rifle or an energy sword unlike anyone on that ring. But I don’t have a problem with that. I have a problem with Master Chief, by comparison and how, particularly on Legendary, his melee becomes a slight tickle.

Here I am, alongside my co-op partner, an exact replica of Master Chief, trying to beat the holy hell into the back of this elite, and he’ll turn round and knock us both down with one kick.

Typical, and some may say, well, you’re playing on Legendary, of course- stop right there! There is only one difficulty to play Halo on, my friend, and that is Legendary.

Now, whether I get kicked to death by a thousand elites or headshot by the same jackal, at the end of the day, my Steam profile will show a set of achievements worthy of legendary status.
