5. Bionic Commando - Your Wife Was Your Arm All Along
In the long-awaited dark and gritty reboot/sequel to 1988's Bionic Commando, Nathan Spencer is swung (pun intended) back into action in an attempt to play hero whilst also seeking out the whereabouts of his lost wife. Towards the end, it is revealed that Nathans trusty swinging bionic arm is actually his wife. As if that wasnt stupid enough, the games pitiful excuse for this reveal is that bionic limbs need an emotional resonance to work. That's right, that bionic arm is powered by love. Ugh. When a whole game is driven by a major plot twist, you had better make damn sure that the twist is awesome, otherwise you will be on the wrong side of the line that separates the Sixth Sense and the rest of M Night Shyamayan's filmography. Unfortunately, this whole games plot was driven by this stupid twist and this ridiculous reveal negates what little emotional resonance and interest about Nathans wifes disappearance that had been built up. Not only that, this reveal brings up some unwanted and unsettling questions on martial relations between a man and his bionic arm/wife hybrid. It's probably a good thing that Bionic Commando only got the one sequel.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
