Up up down down left right left right B A Start! This is probably the only button combination with an actual legacy behind it that has spanned generations; it was a staple in Konami games to provide developers with super weapons among plentiful extra lives. This fabled code has found itself tossed into iconic franchises ranging from Contra to Castlevania to Metal Gear. It isnt always about giving players and developers an advantage however as some games (even those not developed by Konami) still use it today for completely different reasons, like unlocking 1999 mode in Bioshock Infinite. If you ask me, every game should find some random use for this code based on its legacy that is still standing tall today. Do you feel that cheat codes should return to gaming for fun?
