10 Classic Enemies That Prove Pokemon Totally Ripped Off Mario

3. Ganchan

Ganchan is a rock-like Pokemon...sorry, I mean enemy, found again in 1989's Super Mario Land, in the mountainous areas of the Easton Kingdom. Ganchans are basically, in effect, chunks of rock with semi-human faces, which bowl around levels either hurting Mario, or helping him by acting as a convenient platform. I honestly do not know where they come up with this s**t.

The Similarities

Basically Ganchan and Geodude are the exact same creature, the only differences being Geodud's more pronounced facial features and the addition of a couple of rock arms. Other than that though, they're so similar I have to imagine the former influenced the latter.
