10 Classic Nintendo Games That NEED A Re-Release

5. Literally Any F-Zero Game

Like Star Fox, F-Zero has always been something of a secondary Nintendo franchise. Though it may not be as universally loved and acclaimed as Mario, Zelda and even Metroid, F-Zero's fans are as dedicated as any, and have been itching for a return to the futuristic racer since the last entry in the series, 2004's Japan-exclusive Climax.

Known for its slick car designs and ridiculously high speeds, F-Zero is to Mario Kart what Formula One is to rallying, providing a more hardcore racing experience than its family-friendly Mushroom Kingdom counterpart. Nintendo consoles have historically been somewhat bereft of serious racing games, and a new F-Zero title (or a re-release of an old classic) could help to remedy this.

While Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto revealed back in 2012 that he doesn't understand why fans would want a new entry into a franchise which "evolved very little", the powerhouse that is the Switch is the ideal platform to resurrect the racing series, the potential implementation of online races making F-Zero more comeptitive than ever.

While Miyamoto's comments might be discouraging, the surprise return of the Kid Icarus franchise in 2012's Kid Icarus: Uprising for the Nintendo 3DS (released a whopping 21 years after the previous entry in the franchise) has helped keep fans' dreams for another F-Zero game alive even after all these years.
