10 Classic Nintendo Games That NEED Switch Remakes

9. Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge

The most recent Castlevania games have only been okay, but - fantastic TV show aside - it seems like it’s been living in the shadow of its former self for a while now; fitting then that the last release was Lords Of Shadow.

Back in the late 80s and into the 90s though, Castlevania answered to no one. There are so many brilliant games to choose from (many were surprised when Syphony Of The Night didn’t make the cut for the PlayStation Classic), but Belmont’s Revenge just nips in ahead of competition here.

In a way, it may seem like an unusual pick. The relatively primitive graphics of the original GameBoy means it’s hardly a visual delight. That’s exactly why it needs to come to Switch though: the graphical upgrade would be phenomenal, and the sights would finally match how compelling the gameplay is.

Belmont’s Revenge has four main levels (air, plant, water and crystal), all of which test gamers in different ways, unique to the environment. You can choose any at any time, but that means you better come expecting a difficulty spike. It’s a franchise in need of a return to the old days, and Belmont’s Revenge could bring them.
