10 Classic Survival Horror Video Games That Are Still Terrifying

Largely overshadowed by its older sibling Resident Evil, the Dino Crisis series has always remained more of a cult favourite than outright mainstream success.

To write it off as simply 'Resident Evil With Dinosaurs' is a disservice to the many innovations and forward-thinking mechanics that this game had to offer. The dinosaurs here are smart and agile hunters, capable of knocking your weapon out of your hand or hunting you down across several rooms. They also have a tendency to inflict bleed damage, which causes Regina to leave a trail of blood for them to follow to your location, should it be left untreated.

The developers of Dino Crisis have always referred to the game as 'Panic Horror', which is a perfect way of describing how you'll feel when playing it. You're constantly thrown curveballs that will veer you off-course and place you in tense cat-and-mouse games of survival that will keep you on edge at all times.

To this day, fans are still begging Capcom to reboot the franchise, and given how successful their recent Resident Evil remakes have been, there's no doubt in anyone's minds that they'd do a bang-up job on bringing this series back from the dead.
