10 Classic Video Games Only Extended By Stupid Enemy Decisions
3. The Didact Believing He's Tougher Than He Is - Halo 4
Halo 4 was mostly a great game, but it did feature the worst villain of the series so far, The Didact, a badass-looking Forerunner Promethean who turns out to be not very badass at all. The final boss fight against the Didact is pitifully short and easy, after which Cortana manages to bind him to the bridge, while Master Chief plants a grenade on him, blowing him off the bridge and sending him hurtling to his demise. It's not so much that the Didact was stupid for being such a bad fighter, but that he clearly believed he was a better fighter than he was. Egotism had gotten the better of him, yet even in the interest of caution, it might have made sense to surround himself (and his prized weapon, The Composer) with as many guards as possible. Instead, he gets his ass kicked and thoroughly outsmarted in an embarrassing, crushing defeat.
