10 Classic Video Games That DON'T Hold Up
7. Star Fox (1993)
I’m hoping you’ve got the message this far into the list that when we’re talking ‘classic’ video games we genuinely mean the cream of the crop, absolutely iconic games from their time because that’s Star Fox for the SNES. Star Fox is another one of those games you’ll be more able to forgive if you remember playing it when it came out in 1993 and you’ve got those nostalgia ties.
Trying to play it this year for the very first time would be a bold move indeed but feel free to see if it pays off.
As a sweeping statement it’s easy for us to just say that any early 3D game was the coolest thing on the planet when it came out and now they look understandably, incredibly rough. While we have no qualms about it earning its spot as one of the best video games of all time and being the first Nintendo game to use polygonal graphics, well, let’s just say you can tell it was the first one.
While we’ll always back ace pilot Fox McCloud, Star Fox’s visuals and mechanics make his first foray a little tricky to go back to. At least we’ve still got Star Fox 64.
