10 Classic Video Games (That Have Aged Horribly)

4. Resident Evil

Resident Evil Jill Valentine
Capcom

The horror... the horror.

The most significant survival-horror game ever made remains scary today for reasons that were never quite intended. An archaic control scheme becomes the glue for obtuse puzzles and frustrating combat sequences all justified by poorly translated - and poorly delivered - lines of dialogue that form a basic story. Meanwhile, scenes of absolute frustration will destroy whatever good will you may have to look at Resident Evil as the notable video game release that history has properly deemed it to be.

The very good news about Resident Evil is that it has received a number of HD remakes that address many of the issues which plagued the original game and do a great job of preserving the qualities that made Resident Evil great at the time.

Just stay far away from the original Playstation release.
