10 Classic Video Games (That Have Aged Horribly)
5. Tomb Raider
Playing the original Tomb Raider is a lot like listening to a drunken man spouting conspiracy theories. There's amusement to be found in their ideas, but ultimately there's not much substance to them.
The basic structure of Tomb Raider is a tremendous preview to the full potential of the 3D action-adventure genre. Many of the concepts it made functional would not be fully realized for years to come. It was the Indiana Jones game we always wanted at a time when such a thing felt like a pipe dream.
Sadly, it is also a game that would be classified as broken today in many respects. Its controls were appalling, the level design was confounding and the presentation was best in a class that frankly didn't have many students in the first place. The most joy you get out of playing Tomb Raider today are the moments when it feels technically functional.
They are moments few and far between.
